I will do a quick scan upon receipt to let you know what the rate will be and the time frame in which I think I can get your document back to you.
*Please note: The price will be higher if the customer has moderate to high need for things beyond the basics. Meaning, they haven’t had an editor clean up the document.
**Again, I am not an editor. For those looking for a read through, I will do it for a higher rate, however I cannot confirm I will capture every rule and every mistake. Think of me more as a proofreader.
What is Oops Detection?
This is a service that helps you find all those little “oops” things that were missed in the editing and proofreading process. This doesn’t replace an editor. I’m not an editor. I will go through your manuscript with a fine tooth comb and find what your editor, or plethora of Beta Readers and Critique Partners might have missed.
How will I send and receive it?
I will request your document be sent to me in Word, Word.docx format.
Everything I update, change or delete will be done in Track Changes. The author will be supplied with 2 documents upon completion.
- Will have the Track changes, which author can approve or delete.
- Is the completed document with the items approved and clean. This document would be ready for publishing.
In plain English, here are the things I’ll be watching for:
§ Commonly misused words: Your / You’re and There / There / Their
§ Run on’s or Fragments: Sentences that could be broken into two or made into one.
§ Missing words or letters
§ Repetitive words: using the same word in a sentence or paragraph
§ Crutch words: words the author is dependent on throughout the book
§ Misspellings: definitely / defiantly
§ Apostrophes, comma’s, punctuation
§ Added or needed spaces
§ Capitalization's: brand names / places
§ Words that need to be deleted: so, surely, very
§ Telling words
§ POV slips
§ Formatting: your paragraphs are too long, indents / block
§ Things that trip the reader and writer up
o Time jump/lapse
o Flow
o Words that might only be used in certain areas of the country/world and therefore confusing
o Character/story mix-ups (i.e. his eyes were blue on page 1, but then on page 5 they’re brown)
o Assumptions made by the writer that the reader has not yet learned in the book
o Breaking up time or POV with spaces and or other symbols
o Too much narrative, you are boring the reader ;)
Who am I?
I am Suzy Ayers, Amazon Bestselling author of two fantasy romance books: Sara’s Awakening ~The Before World: Book 1 and Miranda’s Amulet ~The Before World: Book 2. Amazon Bestselling author of a piece contributed to an erotic anthology Erotic Fantasies.
I also write romance across many genres including: erotica, paranormal and fantasy. I believe in happily-ever-afters. I love to meet and promote authors. I’m a mom, an author, a book reviewer, a passionate cook, and marketer. I hope to add successful proofreader to that list as well.
I am analytical and have done auditing in my real life jobs. Even when I read for leisure, I find mistakes distracting and sometimes I have to put the book down. I’m extremely detail oriented and decided it was high time to put myself out there.
My Goal!
I hope to add sparkle to your polish.
What does that mean? An editor is supposed to make your work shine and even they can miss things. So my service is here to help you find those things that weren't caught. To make it sparkle.
I hope to make your document even better. Sometimes all you need is another set of eyes to clear out the lingering hiccups. I am not perfect, but I am a perfectionist. Call it the Virgo in me.
Additionally, editors could only be looking for grammar. I could help with many other things as I mentioned above.
Confidentiality / Legal
All books will be treated as if copyrighted. No infringements will be made, no pieces will be: cut, borrowed, shared, duplicated, or used for my benefit. I will never discuss your books with others either, unless talking in the best possible light and telling people of your fabulous writing (unless you specifically don’t want me to). ;)
Being an author, reviewer and now proofreader, I hope it is clear I have nothing but respect for the written word and the people who write. This being said, I must also protect myself by firmly stating that should you find anything in my work that seems similar to your premise, character, storyline, etc, my works are also protected. However, I have hundreds of characters and unfinished stories, I doubt that will ever be a problem for either of us.
Disclaimer:
There is no guarantee that I will catch every mistake, however I will attempt to make your work as clean as possible. Making your work look exceptional reflects on me. And of course that is if you accept the changes I have suggested. Wishing you the very best in your writing endeavors.
All My Best,
Suzy Ayers

Customer and Critique Partner reviews below with their books that I have worked on.
John Satisfy: Suzy is professional, thorough, and a pleasure to work with. Not only does she help make my stories sparkle, but she's helping me improve my future writings as well. Completely worth it.
